Clay S. Anderson, age 67, longtime resident of Waterford and Corry, died Monday, April 22, 2013 at Saint Vincent Health Center. Born in Erie on May 22, 1945, he was a son of the late Clay and Leona Crispen Anderson. He married Patricia A. Adams on January 7, 1967, and she survives. Clay was employed as a truck driver for almost 50 years of which 14 years was driving for Presque Isle Trucking in Erie. After retiring in 2008, he drove school bus for Fort LeBoeuf School District. For two years during the Vietnam War Era, Clay was stationed in Germany with the United States Army. Above all, Clay loved his family and he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed serving Him over the years with his gifts. For the last ten years, he traveled to churches in many states sharing his chalk art ministry, and in 2010-11, he pastored a Wesleyan Methodist Church in Buckhannon, W. Va. Family members include his wife, Patricia A. Anderson; daughter, Sheryl Khan and husband Shafi of Syracuse, N.Y.; son, Richard Anderson and wife Jennifer of Union City; five grandchildren-- Morgan Anderson, Nick and Zack Upperman, Gabriel and Loren Khan; five siblings-- Dewey Anderson of Erie, James G. Anderson and wife Linda of Centerville, Debra Ferrell and husband Rev. David of Mansfield, Ohio, Denna Eblin of Pomeroy, Ohio, and Darlene Douglas and husband Mark of Union City; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lee Anderson. Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and may attend funeral services there Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Clarence Mayhle of the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery in Beaverdam. Memorial donations may be sent to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 E.
