Loving Father, Grandfather & Great-grandfather Charles M. Sokolowski, age 85, passed away Thursday morning April 25, 2013 at his residence in Erie. He was born in Erie, November 11, 1927 son of the late Bronislaus and Margaret Recicar Sokolowski. He is survived by his daughter Diane Chromik and her husband Chuck of Lawrence Park, his sons: Charles M. Sokolowski and his wife Rosemary of Erie and David Sokolowski and his wife Michele of Erie, his five grandchildren: Joseph, James, Mary, Laurie and Kelly and his two great-grandchildren Noelle and Hayley. He is also survived by three sisters Betty Ann, Donna and Joyce, two brothers Eugene and Donald along with many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Natalie Lalaeff Sokolowski, whom he married December 27, 1950, a brother John Sokolowski and a sister Dolores Chaney. Charles retired from the Inland Container Corp. after 44 years service. He was a member of Holy Family R. C. Church. He was a 1945 graduate of East High School and a U. S. Army veteran. Charles was a Notre Dame fan, a Cleveland Browns fan and a Cleveland Indians Fan. He was an avid bowler and golfer. Charles was an electronics gadget fan, having to be the first to buy any new electronic device to come on the market. He had a fine collection of all kinds of remote controls. He always looked forward to his Saturday day trips with his daughter Diane and her husband Chuck. Friends may call at the Mark G. Razanauskas Funeral Home, 701 East Avenue, Erie Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., where a prayer service will be conducted Saturday morning at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice 2253 W. Grandview Blvd. Erie, PA 16506.
