Edward Earl Thomas, 36, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, unexpectedly. He was born in Erie, Pa., on October 14, 1976, the son of Katherine Thomas and Edward Earl Hobson. He graduated from East High School with Honors. He also attended Tony and Guy Hair Dressing Academy. He was a skilled barber known throughout Erie for his work. He loved to cook for his sisters. He was a protector to his mother and family. He was loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parental grandfather the late Reverend William Bradford Hobson, Sr. His maternal grandparents the late Georgia Mae Thomas and James Albert Thomas and brother Deondre Thomas. He is survived by three sisters, Malikha Hobson, Shacora Spain, and Vonjay Hobson and two brothers Justin Gilmore and Noah Thomas, four aunts: Rosemary Gilmore, Kim Hobson, Sandra Hobson, all of Erie and Birdia Bunyn (Elder Rick), Jackson, Tn., nine uncles Elder Albert Thomas (Mary), Pastor John Thomas (Kelly), Danny Thomas, Stephon Thomas, Jeffery Hobson Jr., Minister Darrold (Penny), William Hobson, Jr., (Debra), all of Erie, Melvin Hobson Farrell, Pa., and Shawn Hobson of Columbus, Ohio, and many great aunts and uncles and cousins. Friends may visit Greater Bethlehem Temple 4103 Washington Ave, Erie Pa., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 11 a.m.- until the time of the service, at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Thomas and Albert Thomas officiating and Minister Darrold Hobson eulogizing.
