Shirley M. LaPolt, 76, of Erie passed away April 29, 2013. She was born on December 7, 1936 in Cochranton, Pa. to the late Kenneth and Myrtle Heffernan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard E. LaPolt. Survivors include: two daughters, Penny Yori, husband Mark, and Alison LaPolt, both of Erie; two sisters, Vivian McMaster, husband LaVerne, of Cochranton, and Cheryl Greathouse of Meadville. She is also survived by five grandchildren: AndreaThompson, husband Mark, Erika Webster, Gretchen Beth Yori, Douglas Webster, and Daniel Yori. Shirley retired after 30 years from Lord Federal Credit Union having served as President and CEO. For over 13 years, she served on the board as Vice President at County of Erie, Pa Federal Credit Union. Shirley held position of Treasurer and President of Financial Women International during her membership of over eight years. She was an Elder at Eastminster Presbyterian Church and served as Treasurer of the Church. She was co-moderator of Presbyterian Women at Eastminster and served as Treasurer of that group as well. She was Treasurer of Presbyterian Lodge Auxiliary and was a member of the Auxiliary Board of Directors. She enjoyed dedicating her spare time to volunteering especially at the Presbyterian Lodge. Friends may call Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of a service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Susan Speakman of Eastminster Presbyterian officiating at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street. Burial will be private.
