Helen Margaret (Galambos) Locke, 82, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013, at UPMC Hamot in Erie. Born May 25, 1930, in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Vareb) Galambos. She graduated from St. Catharines Collegiate High School. She married Charles H. Locke of St. Catharines on November 8, 1952, and the couple moved to Erie later that year. Helen raised two sons and a daughter, and enjoyed ice skating, snow skiing, and was musically and artistically inclined. She was an avid supporter of the Erie Lions hockey program, as a hockey mom, cheering for her husband Charlie, who was part of the original Erie Lions team. In addition to her devoted husband Charlie, she is survived by her sons, Rick Locke and his wife Maureen, of Wilton, Conn., and their children Kevin and Kristen, of New York City, Larry Locke and his wife Carol, and their son Brandon, of Fairview, Pa.; her daughter, Lisa Locke, of Erie, Pa.; her brother, Charles Galambos and sister-in-law, Pauline Galambos, of St. Catharines, Ontario. Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. until the service at 8:30 p.m. Private burial will be in Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines, Ontario.
