Joseph J. Alberstadt, age 75, of Erie and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 in Florida. He was born in Erie on December 3, 1937 a son of the late Joseph and Irene Crowley Alberstadt. Joe graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1955 and attended Gannon University. He was a Realtor in the Erie area retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Jude Church and a past member of the Greater Erie Board of Realtors. He is preceded in death by a son, Donald J. Alberstadt in 2004 and a sister, Loretta Schellang. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Kurtis Alberstadt, a son, John E. Alberstadt of Erie and sisters Mary Ann Joint Zameic and Shirley Zimmerman (Jim) of Erie, Pa. and Kathryn Twomey of Rochester, N.Y. plus several nieces, nephews and cousins. He always had a positive outlook and smiled at everyone while continuously being pushed around by his wife and son...wink wink! Even with his disability, he still traveled the world extensively. He loved life! Friends may attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at St. Jude Church at 11 am with Rev. Mark Hoffman officiating. Family requests all memorials be made out to: Donald J.
