An Angel has been laid to rest
Cynthia Ann (Grotkowski) Goodspeed was born on October 10, 1954 a daughter the late of Norbert and Rose (San Pietro) Grotkowski. Cynthia passed away from a short term battle with a rare autoimmune/muscle and lung disease at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh on July 22, 2013.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary Goodspeed, one sister Debbie Daniels of Erie, one daughter Lindsey Goodspeed Breter (Michael Breter) of Harborcreek, one son Garrison Goodspeed (Vanessa Mellone Goodspeed) of Albuquerque, N.M., two granddaughters Makenzie and Hanna Breter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Norbert Grotkowski, her mother Rose San Pietro Grotkowski, and a brother in law Jeff Daniels.
Cynthia worked for 40 years at Saint Vincent Hospital. She was a very devoted employee to the hospital with the most amazing work ethic. She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, singing and she was a devoted, sacrificing and loving wife, mother and truly giving friend.
Gary and Cindy lived in Millcreek for the last 28 years, and they worshipped at First Alliance Church, led by Pastor Dave. Her whole family has accepted Jesus as their personal savior and will one day be seated together at the marriage supper of the lamb.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th , Street. Services will be held there on Saturday at 11a.m. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home or memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
