Lena Irene Amendola Paris, age 93, of Erie, died peacefully Friday, February 7, 2014 at Forestview Health Care Center. Born December 29, 1920 in Erie, she was the first-born child of the late Gaetano and Concetta (Cupello) Amendola.

Lena graduated in 1939 from East High School. She was a homemaker and loved raising her family. She enjoyed caring for her yard and beautiful roses. She also made many latch hook rugs and enjoyed playing bingo at Forestview. She loved her family dinners and picnics where there was always a large pot of homemade meatballs heating on the stove to be enjoyed by everyone.

She was a founding member of St. Luke Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband whom she dearly missed, Joseph Paris, in 2005 after 66 years of marriage; two brothers, Albert and Edward Amendola; and a great-grandson, Hunter Faulkner.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Miller; and a son, Robert "Bob" Paris (Therese Sivers), both of Erie; five grandchildren, Jill Faulkner, husband Mike, Wendi Fox, husband Mike, Holli Renfro, fiancé Tony Massaro, Tony Paris, wife Karla, Ryan Paris, wife Adrianne, all of Erie; her youngest brother, Arthur Amendola, wife Marge, of Erie; six great-grandchildren, Jared and Trent Faulkner, Trinity Fox, Max, Brody, and Violetta Paris; one great-great-grandaughter, Dylan Jane Faulkner.

Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th St. Services will be held there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Luke Church at 10 a.m. Burial at Trinity Cemetery on the family lot.
