Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend

Richard (Bud) James Walsh, age 79, a resident of Summit Township, passed away on February 13, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital. Richard left us this day on the wings of an angel after an unexpected sickness. Although he is gone, we have a lifetime of memories, and our hearts are filled with his everlasting love. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, and love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Bud was born on July 24, 1934, the son of the late Patrick and Frances Walsh. Bud attended St. Mary Grade School and East High School. He completed 39 years at Lord Manufacturing and 10 years at Gary Miller Chrysler, Jeep as a shuttle driver. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1956. Bud was a longtime member of St. James R.C. Church, the Lord's Quarter Century Club, and the American Legion in Wesleyville. He loved golf, NASCAR racing, and Steelers football.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Carrigan Walsh; brothers, William and Patrick Walsh; and sister, Mary Jargiello. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Walsh, whom he married on January 30, 1971; daughter, Mary Fogel (Rick) of Erie; sons, Robert (Betty) of Selinsgrove, Pa., David (Christy) of Lexington, Ohio, Kevin (Mario) of Buffalo, N.Y., John (Jennifer) of Erie; a sister, Helen Behrendt of Erie; his precious twelve grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Edward Jarmolowicz and Frank Bomanski.
