Rev. C. Michael Annis, 74, of Henderson, Nev., died Saturday, February 15, 2014, following a long battle with cancer. Fr. Mike was born to Barbara and Charles Annis on March 1, 1939 in Framingham, Mass.
He graduated from MIT in 1961 and the Episcopal Theological Seminary in 1965. Fr. Mike was married to Joyce Rosenberger in August 1965, and they served together in Indiana, California, Iowa and Pennsylvania, before retiring to Henderson, Nev., in 2003.
Fr. Mike spent 48 years as a Priest in the Episcopal Church, having retired in 2003 as Rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, in Fairview
Fr. Mike is survived by his wife, Joyce, and their four children: Karen Weires of Nevada; Kenneth Annis and The Nguyen of California; and Tuan Bui, of Oregon, a sister Christina Sells and brother David Annis, both of Indiana, and nine grandchildren.
A celebration of Fr. Mike's life and service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st at Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, Nev., with internment at a later date, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, in Fairview, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the memorial donations may be made to Friends in the Desert (outreach to the homeless), 43 West Pacific Ave., Henderson, NV 89015.
