Caroline J. Boozer Spano Obituary

Caroline J. Boozer Spano, age 84, of Erie, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Cool Spring, Pa. on February 18, 1930, a daughter of the late William Boozer and Tessie Keller Boozer Smith.

Caroline was employed as a teacher's assistant in the Erie School District for almost 25 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church. Caroline enjoyed watching T.V., reading, solving seek and find puzzles, and was also a good cook. She was a good and loving wife, mother, and friend who loved her family and animals, especially her late pet dog, "Buster".

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Armand Spano in 1998 and her son, Samuel Spano in 1997. Survivors include two daughters: Irene Seely and Theresa Spano-Hunt (Jim); four sisters: Barb Smith, Mona Hughes (Arthur), Elaine Felton (Clarence "Cookie") and Carolyn Rhoades (Emmett) and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Further visitation will be held at Holy Rosary R.C. Church (2701 East Ave.) from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass to be celebrated there at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.
