Andrew C. Simkovitch, II, 41, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014.
He was born on March 2, 1973, in Erie, Pa. to Andrew C. Simkovitch and the late Evelyn D. Cogar Simkovitch Luciano.
He attended Grandview Elementary and Gertrude Barber Center, and graduated from Girard High School in 1994. He worked with the adult work program with the Gertrude Barber Center, since 1994.
He was a member of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching horses, painting, and TV. He was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan, and also a Sea Wolves fan.
Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn D. Luciano on June 17, 2012; by his stepfather, Russell Luciano in 1996; and his paternal grandmother, Jean Simkovitch.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his paternal grandfather, Andy Simkovitch of Lake City; his maternal grandparents, Oran Cogar of Madisonville, Tenn., and Joy Cogar of Webster Springs, W.Va
.; a sister, Christine M. Skidmore of Girard; a stepsister, Nicole Luciano; his uncles, Richard Simkovitch and his wife, Dannetta, Glenn Simkovitch, and John Simkovitch and his wife, Mary Ellen, all of Lake City; and several aunts, cousins, and friends from the Barber Center.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Edder Funeral Home, Girard. Funeral services will be held there on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
