Frank G. Maleski, 88, of Old Rd., French Creek, N.Y., died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 28, 1925, in French Creek, New York, the son of the late Walter and Lena Goulding Maleski.

A lifelong resident of French Creek, he started dairy farming at the age of 14, and retired from milking when he was 84. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and polka music, and family gatherings.

Frank is survived by children, Elaine Maleski, Julie Maleski, Marilyn (Willy) Harman, Michael (Teresa) Maleski, Rick (Lynn) Walker, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sister, Flora Goodwill, and also by many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Maleski, who died April 12, 2001, and whom he married January 10, 1946, and by a infant son and daughter, three brothers, Glenn, George, James Maleski, and one sister, Grace Hallet.

Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday March 23, 2014, at the Spitzer Funeral Home, 8728 East Main St., Clymer, New York.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday March 24, 2014, at St. Matthias RC Church, French Creek, New York. Burial will be in St. Matthias Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of Spitzer Funeral Home, PO Box 305, Clymer, NY 14724.
