Mollie Ann McCullum Cook, 75, of 554 ½ East 12th St., passed away on Thursday, March 20th, at Twinbrook Medical Center. She was born September 12, 1938, in Soso, Miss., to the late Rebecca Clayton McCullum and Hargest McCullum.
She was a resident of Erie for the past 42 years, where she was a member of First Good Samaritan AME Zion Church. Mollie was employed by the Erie School District, as a crossing guard, for 22 years, as a Nurse's Aide for UPMC Hamot for ten years, and for Healthsouth Lake Erie Institute of Rehabilitation for five years.
Mollie enjoyed being with family, loved cookouts and playing cards, watching game shows, basketball games and old western movies.
Besides her parents, Mollie was preceded in death by her husband David Charles Cook, two brothers, Hargest and R.P. McCullum.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Dallas and David Cook Jr., both of Erie, a daughter Cindy (Albert) Williamson of Erie, two brothers, Taree McCullum of Taylorville, Miss. and L.C. McCullum of Laurel, Miss., a sister Polly Ann Dean of Soso, Miss., seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the family at Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., on Tuesday, March 25th, from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., and a funeral service at First Good Samaritan AME Zion Church, 3209 Pennsylvania Ave., on Wednesday, March 26th at 11 a.m., with Pastor Fletcher Hudson officiating and Rev. Amos Goodwine Jr., eulogizing. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Funeralization is by Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave.
