Martha C. Eichenlaub, age 65, of Summit Township, died at St. Vincent Hospital, Monday, March 24, 2014. Born in Erie on August 26, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Janice (Brown) Cook.
Martha was a licensed psychologist who had practiced at the Gertrude Barber Center, Albion State Prison, Stairways Behavioral Health, Family Services of NWPA, and her own private practice, Eichenlaub Psychological Services. After retirement, she volunteered at the Second Harvest Mobile Food Bank and the UPMC Hamot Aid Society. Her canine companion, Hannah, kept her company in her free time.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael W. Cook.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Laura Eichenlaub, of Roanoke, Va.; her son, Paul Eichenlaub, wife Alison, of Marana, Ariz.; her sister, Michelle Loesel, husband David, of Erie. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She and her children were also blessed to have the love and support of the Eichenlaub and Carvelli families.
Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd., Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., and to attend a funeral service there Saturday at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Haas officiating. A private burial will be held at the family's convenience.
