Margaret Thomas Sherred, age 81, of Erie, died at her home, on Thursday, March 27, 2014. She was born in Meadville, Pa., on March 10th, 1933, the daughter of the late George and Marie Thomas.
Margaret was employed as a line packer with Van de Kamps for over 20 years. She was a hard worker, loved baking "special cakes," doll making and collecting. Her favorite movie was "Gone with the Wind." She enjoyed traveling, cruising, shopping, and decorating for the holidays.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Raymond, Barney, Ruby Thomas and Katherine Akerly.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Lloyd Sherred of Erie; one daughter Becky Sherred of Erie; one son, Lloyd Sherred, Jr. (Margaret Ann) of North East, Pa.; two grandchildren, Jeff Sherred of Erie and Jen Bisbee of Erie; one sister, Helen McBride (Rufus) of Cleveland, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and great-grandson Collin Bisbee of Erie.
Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th St., Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend services there on Monday at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
