Clarence "Pete" R. Thomas, 77, of Corry, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Corry Manor, Corry, Pa. Pete was born July 29, 1936 in Union City, Pa., the son of the late Chauncey K. and Julia (Billsborough) Thomas.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Young; and brothers, Carl, Robert, Louie, and John Thomas. He is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Schetter and her husband, Steve of Corry, Pa., and Yvette Eddy and her husband, Norman of Union City, Pa.; four sons, Jim Thomas of Falconer, N.Y., Steve Thomas and his wife, Sherri of Corry, Pa., Clarence Raymond Hall and David Alan Thomas; two sisters, Neva Hall of Union City, Pa., and Anna Mae Thomas of Jamestown, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
As a young man, he enlisted in the Marines for two years and for four years was in the reserves. He was very proud of the Marine Corps, and the time he served. His lifelong passions were the church and fishing. While living in Erie, Pa., he attended the Assembly of God Church on Oliver Road and then the Family Worship Center on Parade Street, Erie, Pa. Pete retired from Superior Bronze after 24 years of service.
No calling hours will be observed, and memorial graveside services will be held by the family at a later date. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City, Pa.
The Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, Pa., is handling arrangements.
