Michael Max Machalinski Jr. Obituary

Michael Max Machalinski, Jr., age 45, of Albion, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at UPMC Hamot, from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. He was born on May 29, 1968, in Erie, the son of the late Michael Max Machalinski and the late Victoria Lynn Young Machalinski.

Michael was a member of Roofers Local Union #210. He was talented in all construction trades. He was known by family and friends as being kind and generous, willing to give you the shirt off his back. One of his favorite quotes, "living the dream," was heard often. Michael enjoyed traveling, hunting, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Michael was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an avid fan of Starbucks coffee. His smiling face will be missed by many.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He leaves to cherish in his memory his daughter, Hailey Machalinski of Florida, sons, Roman Machalinski of Albion and Cody Bort and girlfriend Olivia Unger of Hummelstown, Pa., two sisters, Michelle Machalinski Barker (Joe) of Haborcreek and Marlo Machalinski and fiancé Lenny Himes of Erie, the mother of his sons, Mikki Bort Machalinski, three nieces, Katlynn Machalinski of Erie, Jessyca Barker of Harborcreek, and Caroline Bort of Ohio. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends, including Meagan Moyer and the Charles Family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Garr Funeral Home or the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16501.

Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 8:00 p.m.
