Elizabeth A. (Hundy) Nace, 69, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at her home.

She was born on April 13, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (McGoldrick) Hundy.

She graduated from East High School in 1963 and later graduated from Edinboro State Teacher's College, receiving a B.S. in Education, majoring in English. Elizabeth began her teaching career in Corry, then spent the rest of her career teaching Special Education in the Erie School District, retiring from there.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Girard, where she was a member of the Sister Parish Committee. She loved spending time taking care of her family and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 40 years, Joel A. Nace; her daughter, Sharon V. Nace; brother, Michael Hundy of Gaithersburg, Md.; grandchildren, Bradley Gordon, Jasmine Gordon and Giavanni Gordon; four nieces and three nephews.

Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard. A Prayer Service will be held there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave., Girard, at 10 a.m., with Rev. William Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
