Audrey Wagner Strohmeyer, age 95, of Erie, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014.

She was born in Erie on January 24, 1919, a daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude Vogt Wagner.

Audrey graduated from Strong Vincent High School, and later worked at the Boston Store in the Sales Audit Office and at the switchboard. She was a member and active parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, since 1943. She served as both a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister, taking communion to the sick on Sundays for many years. She was a member of SAGE, the Bocce League, was a past treasurer of the Ladies Guild and Crafters, and was a past president of the PTA. She was involved in scouting, where she was both a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother. She made Cursillo 164. In 1989, Audrey and her husband Chuck received the Pope John Paul II Apostolic Blessing for outstanding service to Blessed Sacrament Church. In addition, she belonged to the Miracle Mile, the Red Hats and many card clubs.

She enjoyed baking, quilting, sewing, camping, and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Strohmeyer in 1989, a brother, Edward Wagner and a sister, Virginia Haas.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Senkalski (James) of Erie and Janet Youngdahl (George) of Roseville, Calif., two sons, David Strohmeyer (Suzan) of Paradise, Calif. and James Strohmeyer (Suzanne) of Royal Oak, Mich.; twelve grandchildren, Edward, Michael, Aaron and Katy Strohmeyer, Douglas and Stephen Youngdahl, Kelley Dzurik, Andrew and Thomas Senkalski, Nancy Voogd, Holly Gillespie and Dr. J.R. Theil; ten great-grandchildren, Megan and Kyle Voogd, Mason, Alexandra, and Alissa Strohmeyer, Jacob Strohmeyer, Connor Dzurik, Olivia Theil, Oliver Strohmeyer and Philipp Hauke. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call on Thursday at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St., Erie, PA 16502, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and are invited to the Funeral Mass on Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church, at 10 a.m. Send condolences to
