John F. Kaiser, 62, of Erie, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his residence, following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on March 20, 1952, a son of Marjorie "Janet" Bannister Cantor and the late Frederick Kaiser.

John was a 1971 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, and worked as a plumber with the Erie School District for a number of years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and camping. He was also a fan of the Erie Otters, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Chicago Bears.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 12 years, Cindy Holland Kaiser; two stepdaughters, Michelle Chapin of Charlotte, N.C. and Katie DeCarolis of Erie; two sisters, Susan Pulliam and Sharon Kaiser, both of Erie; two brothers, Charles Kaiser and his wife Kim of Charlotte, N.C. and Paul "Toby" Cantor and his wife Shelly of Erie; his aunt, Marian Paulsen of Erie; many nieces and nephews; his dogs, Lilly and Bosco; and his grand-dog, Rosco.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.. Services will be held there on Monday at 10:00 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Dr. Harold Kelley, and burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
