Virginia Margaret Reniff McColley, life-long Erie area resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Mary's Home of Erie where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was a daughter of the late Homer and Ernestine KrautterReniff.
Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, PFC Andrew Nelson McColley who was killed in action at the Anzio Beachhead (Italy) during World War II. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Robert Kecer; twin baby boys, Richard Carl and Harry Eugene; three brothers: Carl, Eugene and Paul; two sisters: Nancy Newbold and Joann Seppi; and one grandson, Theodore Skarupski.
Survivors include her four daughters: Scarlett E. Skarupski, Sandra L. Jeffery, Cheryl R. Faycheckall of Harborcreek Twp. and Pamela J. Kelsey of Erie; one sister, Doretha Aldrich; seven grandchildren: Kimberly Skarupski Seaberg (Richard) of Baltimore, Md., Shannon Skarupski Hubacher (Dwight) of Norfolk, Va., Andrea Skarupski of Washington, D.C., Kelly Jeffery Betts, Amber Betts Shenk (David), Stephanie and Joshua Fiero, all of Erie; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Virginia's family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the compassionate and tender care she received from the staff of St. Mary's Home while she was in residence.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Private interment Lakeview Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Pa.
