Carole A. (Kuhn) Waldinger, age 71, of Millcreek, died at St. Vincent Hospital, Friday, May 2, 2014. Born in Erie, September 24, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Elizabeth (King) Kuhn.

Carole graduated from Villa Maria Academy and received her bachelor's degree from Villa Maria College and a master's degree from Edinboro University. She was a supervisor at Lighthouse Park Playground and later a cadet teacher at Holy Rosary School. She then taught in the Erie School District at Harding Elementary School for 10 years followed by several years as administrative assistant at St. Mary Parish. She retired from the Neighborhood Art House, where she was the business administrator for 15 years.

Carole was a member of St. George Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic minister at both St. George and St. Mary churches. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and Sudoku. She also enjoyed dinners with her girls club and bowling at St. Mary's Club. She took great pride in caring for her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David C. Waldinger; four sons, Matthew Waldinger, wife Robin, of Erie, Andrew Waldinger, fiancée Jessica Blake, of Jamestown, N.Y., Patrick Waldinger (Leandra Lopez), of Miami, Fla., Peter Waldinger, wife Erin, of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren, Noah, Coraline and Evelyn Waldinger; a sister, Mary Ellen Kuhn, of Erie; a brother, Robert Kuhn, wife Barbara, of Erie; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd. Prayers will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. George Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be private for the family.
