Kathryn L. "Kay" Goss, age 87, of Erie, passed away peacefully Friday, May 9, 2014 at her daughter's residence. She was born in Mill Village on August 6, 1926, the daughter of the late Frederick and Carrie Waid Hanson.

Kay was a graduate of Groveland High School in Groveland, Fla. She began a life long business career with Penelec as a secretary and retired from AMSCO, as their insurance coordinator. Following her retirement, Kay continued to work in her home as a medical transcriptionist. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she had served as President of the XYZ Sr. Citizens Group, and was involved in many other activities. She had many hobbies including crocheting, knitting, sewing and being in her kitchen. Kay especially enjoyed caring for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard R. Goss, 3 infant children, 2 brothers, Harold and Carl Hanson. Survivors include her beloved children: Malcolm Goss (Linda), Ruth Ann Seidl (Jeff), Kevin Goss (Sue), Karen Shreve (Robert), Dale Goss, Norman Chris Goss and KatheFenstermacher (Kurt), Nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Virginia Hanson, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kay's family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to her hospice caregivers, especially Tom, Regina and Veronica.

Private family services were held with interment in the family lot at Edinboro Cemetery. The Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd. handled arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Salvation Army, 1022 Liberty St., Erie, PA 16502, or to Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary, 5439 West Lake Rd., Erie, PA 16505.
