Mary M. Kendall, age 94, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving daughters, on Sunday, May 18, 2014.

She was born in Erie on April 9, 1920, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Kulla Carnecki.

Growing up, Mary was a member of Holy Family Church and attended the parish school. She graduated from East High School.

Mary worked for Erie Resistor, Quinn-Berry, and Hoover Universal. Following her retirement, she worked for the food services department of the Millcreek School District.

She was a founding member of St. Jude the Apostle Church.

Mary enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and taking long walks. She loved her cats and would make a home for every stray cat that came her way. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Porter E. Kendall; a sister, Vera Smith; and two brothers, Francis and Joseph Carnecki.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Marilyn Kendall, and Barbara Boyle and her husband William of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Dr. Brian Boyle and his wife Dr. Shelly Boyle, and Maureen Boyle and her husband Thomas Fec, all of Pittsburgh, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Russo-Colt and the caregivers from Regional Hospice for their comfort and support.
