Paul O. Pirozzola Obituary

Paul O. Pirozzola, 71, of Schrambling Rd., Corry, Pa., died on Monday, May 19, 2014, at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pa.

He was born on October 8, 1942, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Alfred and Beatrice Teemley Pirozzola.

Paul was raised by his grandparents, Duane and Bernice Teemley, and educated in Corry. He graduated from Corry High School in 1961, and then attended Minneapolis Technical College, graduating in 1964. Following college, Paul served two terms as an agricultural extension agent for the Peace Corp, from 1964 to 1970. He later worked as a certified mechanical inspector and welder for over 37 years, at Associated Spring-Barnes Group, in Corry. He served 14 years as president of the United Auto Workers Association, and one term as Columbus Township supervisor.

He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, and Corry Rod and Gun Club. Paul was an avid hunter and public servant.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Pirozzola.

Paul is survived by his wife Lucy Pirozzola, whom he married on June 13, 1966, in Tehran, Iran; a daughter Melissa Treicher of Kennesaw, Ga.; a son, Paul Pirozzola and his wife Marie of Rocky River, Ohio; and a brother, Charles Gordon of Warren, Ohio. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Paul Pirozzola and Michael Treichler; and two nephews, Phillip and Mac Gordon.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Friday at 10 a.m. Rev. Mark Hoffman will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
