Donna Faye Watkins Trippi, age 81, of North East, passed away peacefully, at home, on Sunday May 18, 2014, surrounded by her family, who were most important to her.

She was born on January 13, 1933, in Montcalm, West Virginia, to the late William Joseph and Willie Mae Dunn Watkins.

Donna left West Virginia at the age of 17 and moved to North East, where she met her husband, the late Joseph F. Trippi (August 31, 1999). Joseph and Donna were married on October 2, 1950, and enjoyed 49 years together.

Donna was a loving wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family. She was devoted to her grandchildren Michael and Katie Wydro, who helped care for her at home, and held her hand in her final moments. The three shared a special bond and "Momo" always considered them her own children.

Donna and Joe opened their home to many pets and made them part of their family. Donna was inseparable from her loving pet Yorkie "Doodles," who never left her side.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Philip Devore, who provided outstanding care and comfort to Donna in her final months.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter, Robert, and Edward Walkins and sisters, Ennice Clearly, Elsie Louonouson, and Mary Ann Farmer.

She is survived by her sons, Lawrence Joseph Trippi (Sherri) of Erie and Joseph F. Trippi Jr. of Erie; her daughter, Brenda Wydro (Alan) of North East; grandchildren, Michael and Adam Trippi and Kate and Michael Wydro; great-grandchildren, Emma and Tyler Trippi; and a loving dog, Doodles.

Private funeral arrangements are by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. Private interment will be at Grahamville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Northwestern PA, 2507 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16506.
