Joseph C. DeWolf, age 55, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at his residence in Erie. He was born in Erie on August 9, 1958, son of the late Elmer and Mary Ann Pratt DeWolf.

Joseph was the owner and operator of JD Heating and Cooling until his retirement. He was a graduate of East High School, Triangle Tech, and also attended American Motorcycle Institute, Daytona, Fla. Joseph served in the U.S. Navy. He loved the outdoors, camping, gardening, and animals.

Joseph is survived by one son, Joseph J. DeWolf of Erie; one grandson, Joseph Pierce DeWolf of Erie; five sisters, Cathy Reichart (Felix) and Trudy DeWolf, both of Erie, Susan Carney (Joe), of N.C., Becky Conrad (Rick), of Sherman, N.Y., and Chris Halverson (Rick), of Fla; two brothers, Mike DeWolf (Jackie) and David DeWolf, both of Erie; his life partner, Veronica Foster; and several nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 3 p.m., at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. The Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd., is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the . To send condolences, visit
