William A. Bill Heinemann Obituary

William A. "Bill" Heinemann, age 69, of Harborcreek Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie on March 24, 1945, the son of the late Alfred and Thelma Dunbar Heinemann.

Bill was an electrician, working at Perseus House. He previously worked for EMI. Bill was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era and Cuban Crisis. He was a friend of Bill W. and belonged to American Legion, Carl Neff Post # 571, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 470, and the Siebenbuerger Club. Bill enjoyed computers, collecting and listening to the oldies, NASCAR, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Bill was known for his great sense of humor. He enjoyed his time spent with family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Donald, sister, Joanne, and stepmother, Ilse Heinemann.

Survivors include four daughters, Cheryl Seremet (Chris); Tammy Christopherson (Mike); Jennifer Hines (Dan); Stacie Burns (John); one son, Paul Heinemann; his loving companion, Sheila Shreve; two sisters, Barbara Stebell (Frank) and Gerda Krebs; twelve grandchildren, Breann, Ashlee, Brennon, Kevin, Katey, Braden, Doug, Makenzie, Morgan, Evelyn, Emmily, Johnny; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Aiden; his former wife and mother of his children, Linda Lydick Heinemann; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Friday at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. James McCormick. Interment will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, with military honors rendered by American Legion Carl Neff Post 571.
