Betty M. Carl Christos, of Millcreek Township, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at UPMC-Hamot. She was born in Erie, the daughter of Betty Rolls Carl of Conneautville, Pa., and the late Hobart Carl.

Betty was a private duty nurse, and then was employed at Pleasant Ridge Manor-West, until her retirement. She was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, and a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed her cat, Zena.

Besides her father, Betty was preceded in death by one son, Matthew Phelps, one nephew, Joshua Bailey, one brother-in-law, Chesley Terril, and her in-laws, Peter and Anna Christos.

She is survived by her husband, George P. Christos, Sr., two sons, Bryan Phelps of Millcreek, George Christos, Jr. of Millcreek, one daughter, Serena Elias of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., four sisters: Phyllis Terril of Conneautville, Sue Carl of Erie, Julie King (Virgil) of Meadville, Karen Forminak (Al) of Meadville, Becky Bailey (George) of Greenville, Pa., one brother, Joe Carl (Debra) of Millcreek, nine grandchildren: Nicole Taylor, Christopher Elias, Mason, Austin, Nathan, and Dillon Phelps, Nicole, Jessica, and Devin Phelps.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Trisagion Service will be held at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 4376 West Lake Rd., on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
