Gregory Blair Muth, age 56, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 14, 2014. He was born in Erie on July 5, 1957, a son of Blair Muth and the late Dorothy Hoover Muth.

Greg graduated from Academy High School in 1975 and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Phoenix. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and was currently working as a Lead Process Technical Advisor at GE. Greg had a huge heart that was filled with the love of his family and his animals. He was an avid outdoorsman and he especially enjoyed his time around the dining room table with his wife and family.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Sharon Elaine Muth; and several aunts and uncles.

In addition to his father, survivors include his wife of 17 years, Ruth Hagan Muth; children, Adam (Jess) Muth of Girard, Joshua (Katie) Rodney of Erie, Lisa Morris of Erie, Matthew Parker of Erie, and Ethan Smith of Girard; grandchildren, Tiffany, Gabriella, Hailey, Gia, and Jaden; one sister, Linda (David) Bartnicki of Erie; mother-in-law, Gloria (Stan Pierson) Hagan; two sisters-in-law, Patti (Bobby) Hagan and Sue (Dave) Bithell; one brother-in-law, Ken (Jo Ann) Hagan; and nieces and nephews, Sherri, Julie, John, Cory and Cyndi.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, PA 16504 on Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to a funeral service there on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard K. Schultz officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o the funeral home.
