Naomi Scheib Kanzleiter, age 102, of Harborcreek, residing at Brevellier Village, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on May 23, 1912, daughter of the late Peter and Mary Scheib.
Naomi was the oldest member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church and the Legion of Mary. She was the Office Manager for many years with her husband's home remodeling company and she volunteered for many years at Brevellier Village.
Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John A. Kanzleiter, who died in 1977, two sisters, Helen Beck and Sister Beatrice OCD, and two brothers, John E. and Charles J. Scheib.
She is survived by her niece, Theresa Miller (Larry) of Erie and many other nieces and nephews living outside Erie.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Further visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., conducted by her nephew, Rev. Joseph Scheib. Interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. at St. Michaels Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
