Thomas Wernicki, 49, of Erie, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Erie, February 8, 1965, son of the late Edward and Josephine Rzomp Wernicki.

Tom was employed at GE and prior that he was employed at Tool-All for many years. He was also employed at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the Society of Holy Trinity Club, Fulton Club, where he served as past secretary, Polish Falcons Next 610, Moniuszko Club, CYS Club, and many other organizations. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, and the Erie SeaWolves, and he enjoyed bowling.

Survivors include his sisters, Susan Merritt and husband, Steven, Kathleen Wernicki, and Judy Baxter and husband, Darin, all of Erie; his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Lesnieski, Bradley Wernicki, Holly Koziorowski, Tomi Soulsby, Scorpio Soulsby, and Kody Baxter. He is also survived by one great-niece, two great-nephews, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his dear friends, Ken and Carol Niedzwiecki and their children, Ryan and Erik.

Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2101 Ash St., Monday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and may attend a service there Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the .

Members of the Society of Holy Trinity Club will meet for a prayer service Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
