Rose Mary Marzka Obituary

Rose Mary Marzka, age 64, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at her residence, Cambridge Springs, on Friday, June 20, 2014. Born on December 10, 1949 in Meadville, Pa., Rose was a daughter of the late William Alexander Lyons and Genevieve Girardat Lyons. She married Allen Marzka on March 15, 1997 and he survives.

Rose graduated from Cochranton High School in the Class of 1967. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, knitting, bird watching, and was an excellent cook. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Allen, Rose is survived by her elder son, Ron Riedel of Corry, and his son, Dylan and daughter, Skylar and his stepchildren, Kelsie and Carleigh Boyd; her younger son, Ryan Reidel and his wife, Corinne, of Elba, N.Y. and their daughter, Chloe; her stepson, Andrew Marzka and his wife, Lisa of State College and their children, Nicholas and Natalie; two sisters - Wilda (Sis) Kline and her husband, William, of Sharpsville and Margaret (Maggie) Alsdorf and her husband, John, of Cochranton; a brother, Lewis (Mike) Lyons and his wife, Karen, of West Sunbury; and a sister-in-law - Debbie Ann Peterson Lyons of Cochranton. In addition, an aunt, Marian Doubet of Meadville and several nieces, nephews, and cousins survive.

Rose was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a brother, Richard (Skinny) Matthew Lyons; a daughter-in-law, Karen Warren Reidel, who died in 2012; and an infant son, Roger Glen Riedel.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Denny Lutz, officiating.
