Richard (Dick) A. Parker, age 77, went home to be with his God on Monday, June 23, 2014. He was born February 12, 1937 in Union City, the only child of the late Roy A. and Mildred McClellan Parker.

Dick graduated from Union City High School in 1955 and following graduation joined the U.S. Air Force. He served his four years mostly in Germany where he worked in their finance department. On returning home, he worked in different finance areas until he went to work for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., and later retired as a store manage after 20 years in that position.

Dick enjoyed reading the Bible and other books about the end times. He was a trustee, teller, and usher at First Alliance Church for over 20 years and was involved with the pencil ministry for 5 years. He was also an avid bowler for 50 years, carrying a 190 average.

Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley M. Hall Parker, whom he married on September 3, 1960. He is the father of Tracy Balkovic and her husband, Kurt, of Boise, Idaho, Jon Parker and his wife, Annelyn, of Mission Hills, Calif., and Lori Skladanowski and her husband, Martin, of Waterford, Pa. He is the grandfather of Megan Skladanowski Borowry and her husband, Michael, of Erie, Mitchell Skladanowski of Waterford, Maria Skladanowski of Waterford, Matthew and Joseph Balkovic of Boise, Idaho, and Melanie and Kimberly Parker of Mission Hills, Calif. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Ashton, Justice, Emree Clare, and Eljah Balkovic, all of Boise, Idaho.

There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Rd., on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Alliance Church Great Commission Fund or to the , 1128 State St., Erie, PA 16501. Arrangements by the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St.
