Mother Maureen of the Precious Blood, O.C.D. (Janice M. Lanzilotti), age 58, of the Carmelite Monastery of Erie, returned home to God on Thursday, June 26th, 2014. Born August 8, 1955 in Plainfield, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Anthony and Maureen (Haney) Lanzilotti.

Mother Maureen earned her bachelor's degree in music, a master's degree in business administration, as well as her Juris Doctor degree. On January 8, 2000, Mother Maureen entered Carmel. Sister's First Profession was on December 8, 2003, followed by her Profession of Solemn Vows on December 12, 2006. She was later named Prioress of the Carmel of the Holy Family on October 7, 2013.

Besides her parents, survivors include two brothers, Thomas Lanzilotti, wife, Jean Marie, and Michael Lanzilotti, wife, Jean; a sister, Karen Lappin, husband, Paul; and many nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to the viewing in the Chapel at the Carmelite Monastery, 510 East Gore Road, on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 8:45 a.m. through 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Monastery Chapel on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. by The Most Reverend Lawrence T. Persico, JCL, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Erie. No 8:00 a.m. Mass will be held on Wednesday.
