Robert Ensign Patten, 75, of Union City, Pa., passed away very peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2014, at Corry Manor, Corry, Pa. Robert was born on July 30, 1938, in Cambridge Springs, Pa., to the late Michael Ensign and Maybelle (Jones) Patten.
He was a veteran of the United States Marines, with an honorable discharge. He loved to play softball, go camping and traveling, and playing cards. He was an expediter at General Electric of Erie, Pa., retiring after 25 years of service. He was a member of UE Local #506, Erie, Pa.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Betty Baney, Irene Kimmy, Isabelle Bawol, and Anna Coe.
Survivors include his wife Barbara (Paden) Patten of Union City, Pa., daughters Jennie Campbell and her husband Steve of Corry, Pa., and their children, Bethanie, Christopher, and Amanda, Melissa Patten of Union City, Pa., and Cynthia Sanford and her daughter, Jordynn of Union City, Pa., six great-grandchildren, sisters, Jennie Rowland and her husband Richard of Henderson, North Carolina, Mary McCabe and her husband Denny of Louisville, Kentucky, a brother, Richard Patten and his wife Patricia of Barnard Bay, New York, and several nieces and nephews and special friends, Patricia Woodworth and Dorothy Fitch, both of Corry, Pa.
Friends are invited to call at the Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, Pa., on Sunday, July 6, 2014, from 2 until time of services at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Fred Baney will officiate, with interment in David Curtis Cemetery, Columbus, Pa. Memorials are requested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia Chapter, River Walk Corporate, Suite 441, 333 East Carson Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
