Michael Stewart Lee, 45, of North East, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014, at UPMC Hamot following a long battle with diabetes. Born in Erie on February 24, 1969 to the late Thomas F. and Betty S. Lee, Mike graduated from Fairview High School in 1988. After graduation he worked for many years at Thomas Lee Printing & Mailing, Inc.
Mike played baseball in high school, and throughout his life was an avid fisherman and bowler. He was a rabid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, but the Steelers were his number one passion. He enjoyed playing and coaching baseball with his son, Jeramy, and loved attending his daughter, Allora's, color guard competitions.
Mike was an incredibly positive person with a great sense of humor, and he loved gardening, animals, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Biebel Lee; his son, Jeramy and his daughter, Allora, both at home; a sister, Aimee Spagel; a brother, Scott (wife, Barb), both of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake Street, North East, Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 and attend a funeral service there Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Mike would love memorials made to Crescent Hose Company, PO Box 89, North East, PA 16428, or the A.N.N.A. Shelter, 1555 E. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511.
