Anthony D. Cook Obituary

Anthony D. Cook, age 52, of Aiken, South Carolina, died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Millcreek Community Hospital, Erie, Pa.

Born in Erie, Pa., on December 13, 1961, he was the son of Billy Cook and the late Louise Hilliard Cook.

He graduated from Technical Memorial High School in 1980, where he had competed successfully in the District 10 Track and Field Championships 1979 -1980, as well as earning a punting record during the years he played football. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army. He was also known for a special dance called the TC Shuffle.

Anthony then drove for 18 years and worked for Laser Spot Trucking for eight years.

He loved playing cards, he was a Steelers fan, and had a great passion for truck driving. Anthony also enjoyed traveling and board games with his daughter.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nantha Clayton, a brother, William B. Cook, a stepbrother, Christopher A. McCallum a stepsister, Cynthia McCallum and a nephew, Travon Green, whose services are Saturday. He was also preceded in death by his uncle Robert Hilliard.

In addition to his father, Billy Cook, survivors include his wife Zuan Corley Cook, a daughter Lillian Cook of Aiken, S.C., stepmother Ronnie McCallum, seven sisters: Tina Cook Harris (Lloyd), Jacksonville, Fla.; Annette Pringle, Newark, Ohio; Helen Harrison of Erie; Kim Coley "Kelly," Sr., Columbus, Ohio; Marlene Stokes, Darlene Stokes, Caroline Green (Sean), all of Erie; a brother, William Ashley; his mother and father-in-law John and Edith Corley of Aiken, S.C.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and a host of friends.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street today, Tuesday, from 6 until the time of service at 8 p.m.

Burial will be in South Carolina.
