Doyle R. Little, 76, of Girard, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at St. Vincent Health Center after a short illness. A resident of Erie most of his life, he was born in Philipsburg, Pa. on March 10, 1938, the son of the late Raymond and Wilma Hoover Little.

Doyle was a 1956 graduate of East High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army where he volunteered on the U.S.N.S. Gen. C. G. Morton ship's newspaper when en route to Far East. He worked for Erie Bronze & Aluminum for 35 years, retiring in 2000.

As a member of Real Life Assembly, Doyle was involved in various church activities such as an usher and volunteering with "Serve Erie", "John 20:16", and "Royal Family". He enjoyed reading, Scrabble, bowling for Erie First, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Ruth Anne Allgeier.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Seely Little, of 26 years; his children, Brenda Thoma and her husband, Tim, Shawn Wentling and his wife, Jennifer, Shawna Dickson and her husband, Jeff, Ray Little, Frank Wentling and his wife, Sheila, Doyle Little, Jr., Kathy Little, Adam Wentling and his significant other, Kayla Booth, Jay Scott Wentling, Michael Minnis, Matthew Burnside, Jay Brant, and Steve McElhenie, all of Erie County; 26 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather on Tuesday at Real Life Assembly - 3902 W. 38th St., Erie, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. for a family and friends remembrance. Private burial will take place at a later date in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Real Life Assembly.
