Carolyn S. Long, 71, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away July 18, 2014. Carolyn was born July 13, 1943 in West Virginia.

During her working years she was employed by Elgin Electronics, and was a cook for Bob Evans restaurant when she retired. Carolyn and her late husband, Dennis "Junior" Long became snowbirds and began coming to Desoto County, from Pennsylvania, in 2002. Junior passed away in 2004 after 46 years of marriage. Carolyn was a sports fanatic and cheered for the Atlanta Braves and the Minnesota Vikings. She enjoyed having lunch with her lady friends on Wednesdays and going to the Moose Lodge. Carolyn was an extremely loving mother and grandmother, and will be deeply missed.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters: Connie (Craig) Dunbar of Arcadia, Fla., Lisa Johnson of Pennsylvania, Debbie (Gary) Yovich of Pennsylvania, Missy (Tom) Altadonna of Pennsylvania; sons: Denny (Kathy) Long of Pennsylvania, Mike (Sheena) Long of Arizona; brothers: Johnnie (Sheila) Kinnie of Maryland, Stevie (Debbie) Kinnie of West Virgnia, Dana Kinnie of Maryland; sister, Brenda VanMeter of Maryland; 20 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis "Junior" Long; parents, stepfather, and brothers: Terry and Scottie Kinnie.

A memorial service celebrating Carolyn's life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to or Draketown Christian Church, 12460 Draketown Road, Edinboro, PA 16412, in memory of Carolyn.
