Venice Virginia (Amendola) DiNardo, age 90, of Erie, passed away peacefully, at Ball Pavilion, on August 2, 2014. She was born in Erie on February 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Saverio and Louisa (Cinelli) Amendola.
Venice graduated from East High School in 1943, and Ora Jean Beauty Academy. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was a resident of Erie all her life. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking, which she loved very much, along with traveling to visit relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dominic M. DiNardo, who died in 2003; two brothers, Orlando and John Amendola; three sisters, Alvena and Virginia Amendola and Eleanor Amendola, who died in infancy.
Venice is survived by a sister, Velma Brasington, of Erie; four children, Donald M. DiNardo and his wife Carol, of Erie, Bernard J. DiNardo and his wife Claudia, of North East, John E. DiNardo and his wife Andrea, of Erie and Susan M. Lamm and her husband Mark, of Erie; six grandchildren, Carl DiNardo, Terra Corsini, Gary DiNardo, Dominic DiNardo, Marc Lamm and Lauren Lamm; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Andrew Corsini. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Ball Pavilion and Brevillier Village for all the love and care provided during the years she spent there.
Family and friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to a prayer service there Thursday at 10:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
