David Demond McLendon Tate, age 39, of 122 E. 17th St., departed this life on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. He was born on September 1, 1974, to the loving parents Jerry (Shirley) Tate and Patricia Ann McLendon (Samuel) Vaughn.
He was a lifelong resident of Erie. David was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, who enjoyed listening to music and watching sports. He was a very outgoing person who was friendly to everyone he came in contact with. He loved to shop and was a great dresser.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Mary Lee McLendon; a grandmother, Willa Mae Tate; and an aunt, Jean Nickson.
Besides his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory one son, Jamal Thompson of Erie; two daughters, Montinique Barnett and Daveaha McLendon, both of Erie; two sisters, Domonique Tate and Devin Hansbrew, both of Erie; a grandfather, Judge Tate; a fiancée, Dicie Ross of Erie; a niece, Damia McCallum; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, August 15, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Second Baptist Church, 757 E. 26th St., and a service will follow, with Elder Aubrey Favors, of Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C., eulogizing. Interment will be at Erie Cemetery. Funeralization is by Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave.
