Marilyn G. (Gillis) Hall, age 71, daughter of the late Edwin and Dorothy (Crocker) Gillis, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at her residence, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Erie on June 9, 1943, she was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Class of 1961. On June 23, 1966, she married Marine Sgt. James Hall, and they spent their honeymoon in Barstow, California. Following Jim's discharge in October of that year, they returned to Erie.
Marilyn worked for many years as a medical assistant for Dr. Richard Di Bacco.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, James Hall; sons, Mike (Misty) of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Chris of Erie; daughter, Lori Hall of Erie; grandchildren, John & Savanna Hall of North Carolina; a sister, Deborah McAlpine (Marty) of Erie; sisters-in-law, Virginia Church of Erie, Grace Minteer of Roulette, Pa., and Pat Damewood of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family thanks their friends and neighbors, and especially hospice nurse, Janet Bourne, for their help and support.
Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, will arrange private services at a later date.
