Florence Marie Dunn Obituary

Florence Marie Dunn, 83, of Elk Creek Township, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014, at her home. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on June 6, 1931, to the late Paul H. and Signa L. (Malmstrom) Carlberg.

She grew up in Sugar Grove, Pa. and graduated from Sugar Grove High School. Following high school, she attended Hamot School of Nursing, where she earned her nursing certificate. Florence continued her education at Moody Bible Institute, and used that knowledge as a missionary in Colombia, South America for 13 years. She was a member of Cranesville Bible Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Paul H. Carlberg Jr. and her infant grandson Michael Dunn.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Donald Alfred Dunn, whom she married on April 22, 1960, in San Jose, Costa Rica. She leaves behind her children, Robert A. Dunn (Robin) of West Springfield, Cheryl L. Guntrum (Joel) of Albion, and Stephen F. Dunn (Annie) of Chambersburg, Pa.; her sister, Louise Stuart of Fairview; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the West Springfield Baptist Church, 13695 Ridge Rd., West Springfield, Pa., with Pastor Andrew Shields presiding.

Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery.
