Harry C. Ball, age 77, of Saegertown and formerly Findley Lake, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday morning, April 7, 2010 at the Meadville Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born March 16, 1933 in Erie, son of the late Harry C. and Katherine Kneissler Ball. He had resided in Findley Lake for most of his life having wintered in Arizona for many years. Harry was a 1951 graduate of Lawrence Park High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Seoul, Korea during the Korean War. Harry was a union plumber and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union #47. He had been employed by the Union for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He was a 51-year member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Moose Lodge in Westfield, N.Y. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Ball. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Eleanor A. Farver Ball; three children, Jeffrey Ball (wife Holly) of French Creek, N.Y., Peggy Buterbaugh (husband Thomas) of Saegertown and Brent Ball (wife Christine) of Findley Lake, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Jacqueline Johnston, Tharon Wegelin, Katherine Harris, Denise Robertson and Linda Novakowski; three brothers, Donald, Martin and Bernard Ball; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Glenn Wills, Pastor, Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene in Edinboro. Full military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service. Private interment at the convenience of the family.
