Francis Palkovic, age 84, passed away Wednesday morning April 21, 2010 at the Hamot Medical Center. He resided in Erie. He was born in Erie August 22, 1925, son of the late John and Mary Kolar Palkovic. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Dorothy G. Kozikowski Palkovic, a sister Mary Anne Palkovic, two brothers John Palkovic and his wife DeSalles, William Palkovic and his wife Delphine, all of Erie and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Edward Palkovic. Frank was a Life Member of Holy Family R. C. Church. He was a United States Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, serving on the Island of Guam. He was a 1950 graduate of Gannon College. Frank retired from Hammermill Paper Company after 36 years service. He was a Life Member of the Slovak National Club and the National Rifle Association. Frank was a master wood carver and enjoyed fishing. Friends may call at the Mark G. Razanauskas Funeral Home, 701 East Avenue Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. where a prayer service will be conducted Saturday morning at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church at 10 a.m. Interment Lakeside Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holy Family School 913 Fulton St. Erie, PA 16503.
