Ronald Delbert Richmond, 60, of 2506 German St., passed away Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Erie VA Medical Center. He was born in Erie, Pa. July 10, 1949, son of Jesse "Bob" Richmond and Elizabeth E. Lee Richmond. He was raised in Erie and attended East High School where he participated in basketball and was on the track team. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. and served a tour of duty in Vietnam and was also stationed in the Philippines and California. He attended community college in California where he was a business major. He was a self-employed tax preparer "Fast Taxes" and also held accounting and auditing jobs with several companies in California. As a youth, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Erie. He returned to Erie in 1995. He was an avid reader and history buff, enjoyed watching all sports on television, and enjoyed games of chance, especially watching horse racing. He was loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed by them all. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Barnett; two brothers, Henry Richmond and Albert Johnson; and a sister, Delthea "Fawn" Richmond. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Zanobia Francis Richmond of Erie; two sons, Ronald Delbert Francis of New Orleans, La. and Derron Richmond and wife Luz Elena of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Deshounn Taylor and husband Donte of Detroit, Mich., Santosha Litzenberg and husband Daniel of San Diego, Calif., and Nicole Richmond of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Robert Richmond of Erie; one sister, Barbara "Cheryl" Richmond of Erie; many grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Friends may visit with the family Thursday 5-8 p.m. at Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave. and are invited to attend a funeral service Friday 11 a.m. at the funeral home officiated by Bishop Climatee Roberts of First Born Apostolic Faith Church of God. Interment will be at Erie Cemetery.
