Dennis O. "Denny" King, age 70, of Erie, passed away on Friday morning, December 10, 2010 at Hamot Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born April 19, 1940 in Erie, son of the late Louis and Bernice Honhart King. He had resided in Erie since 1966 having lived in North East previously. Denny was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had been employed by the former Hammermill/International Paper Co. for 38 years prior to his retirement. Denny was a member of St. James R.C. Church. In addition, he was also a member of American Legion Carl Neff Post #571 and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. Denny enjoyed fishing and golfing. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Carole A. Tokash King; four children, Denise St. John (Ernie) of Lebanon, Ohio, Shelly Howman (Sid) of Roswell, Ga., Coleen Lanehart (Henry) of Hagerstown, Md. and Master Sgt. Daniel King (Chris) of McCord A.F.B. in Tacoma, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Bridget, Logan, Brian, Kayla, Gina, Lane, Spencer and Erin; one brother, Robert King (Winsome) of Australia; one sister, Carol Ann DePauw (John) of Chicago Ill.; and two nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Gregory Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James R.C.
