John Dombrowski Obituary
Waterford- John Joseph Dombrowski, age 64, of Wilcox Court, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Kindred Crossings East Campus in New London after a long courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. He was born in Erie, Pa. on May 3, 1946, the son of John and Helen Skarupski Dombrowski and the father of Katherine Mary Dombrowski, all who predeceased him. On November 11, 1995 John married Kathleen Walsh Dombrowski, who survives him. Mr. Dombrowski had a successful career in sales and marketing . He received many sales awards and recognitions from the many companies he worked for, including Polaroid Corporation. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Columbus College of Art and Design. He loved the outdoors, and was a member of the Niantic Sportsman Club. He was an accomplished bow hunter and enjoyed fishing, bird watching and gardening and continued to explore his talent for watercolors. John had a laugh that would light up a room. He is survived by a son Jack Dombrowski of Waterford; two daughters, Amanda Kelsey and her husband Paul of Holly Springs, N.C.; Elysia Feagans and her husband Shawn of Holly Springs; a brother William Dombrowski of Brookville, Pa.; a sister Barbara Zautner of Glenmont, N.Y. He has five grandchildren, Jacob, Isabelle and Abigal Kelsey; Anna and Benjamin Feagans. He also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. As well as family and many dear friends, who supported him with their love through out this difficult journey. Also surviving him is his former wife, Camille Dombrowski of Holly Springs N.C. John's family wishes to thank the incredibly loving care he was given by those at Kindred Crossing and Masonicare Hospice.
